A short tail still will get 4-5' over time. Since most bloods aren't tame at all, I would recomend you have a bit of experience with agressive snakes. Although some bloods may tolerate handling, they would much rather be left alone. Not a good display or pet snake IMO.

Actually, good CBB bloods & short-tails that have been raised correctly are usually quite tolerant of handling, and can be an extremely rewarding animal to keep. The vast majority (over 100) of mine are hand-tame & are gentle, mellow snakes to work with.

I didn't say that they aren't. Most bloods I have handled or seen would much rather hide that come out and be held. I may have to contact you when you have some albino bloods though

If that's your attitude about them, you should stick with a rubber snake from Toys-R-Us.

Bloods & short-tails (or any other snake, for that matter) are not for inexperienced keepers who decide they want one because the name is "gangsta"...and if you're looking for cheap, then you'll get what you pay for...cheap.

If you're more concerned with price than thoroughly educating yourself regarding proper care & husbandry of the species, you're doing both you & the snake a HUGE disservice!!!
