    Abused Painted Turtle Released today:

    Hello all,
I thought I would share a picture of one of our turtles that we were able to release today.
She is a female painted turtle.
She came to us a little over a year ago after living in a 5.5 gallon tank in someones house. A man who went out fishing found her and thought he would "save" her so he brought her to his house and put her in a small enclosure. She had 4 inches of water in horrible condition. She had no light and no filter. She was also fed a very incomplete diet. Mind you she is a full grown painted and couldn't really move. When we received her she had extensive parasites, and horrid shell rot. It took us a little over a year and multiple vet visits to get her shell in good enough condition to release her.
Anyhow it was all worth it.

I think releasing the animals is the most fulfilling part of our rescue work.
    Thanks for looking

Unhappy Re: Abused Painted Turtle Released today:

Just think if our world was not blessed with the kindness you and your family possess, many more reptiles would expire at such young ages.

It is amazing the amount of animal neglect there is in this world right now. I wish there was a way we could all get involved and then maybe it would decrease the torment some of these little guys have to go through.

Your a wonderful person for doing what you do. God Bless.

    -Danny
