Turtle likes my pool better than his pond
Hey all,
I have a turtle pond in my back yard which has two red earred sliders in it. I've had it for years and they've only gotten out once up until now and that's when the hurricanes came through and flooded everything. This past week, one of the turtles keeps getting out and makes a bee line for my inground pool. I get him out, rinse him off, and put him back into the pond, only for him to turn around and get back into my pool! Until I can figure out how to keep him out, I just want to make sure that the chlorine from the pool isn't going to harm him.

Red Eared Sliders are so inquisitive,
I would definatly try and figure out how he is getting out, Do you have his pond inside an enclosure. Many turtles and tortoises dig themselves out of outdoor pens.
Whenever we have made blue prints up for any chelonian enclosure we dig the fence into the ground by a minimum of 18 inches, farther for those persistant larger torts. Could he be digging out?
I would worry about the chlorine, that is definatly not a good thing for him to be in. It can lead to a multitude of health issues.
Good luck with him.
