i had a sulcata not very long ago(about 9 months old)..and he died ...i know i gave him everything he needed because i researched tons and tons....i have no idea how he died...?

Just thinking about it, there's was an article in a recent reptile magazine discussing the importance of nutrition and other requirements for a lot of herps. In the article they discussed and pictured two sulcatta tortoises that were about the same age, but one was raised indoors on a commerical diet and the other was raised at a zoo outdoors eating plants similar to what they eat in the wild. The difference was striking. I think the importance of proper UVB exposure and diet is incredibly important in the successful maintenance of large tortoises.

How did you have him set up? What was his diet? Did he have regular UVB exposure? Heating?
