    Well, I'll be

Is this a newer thread area? I know I've been gone a while......
I wish I took shots for all of you guys, we just released a nice sized snapping turtle this morning.
He wintered over with us after being seized from a basement.
We are getting more and more calls into the wildlife department of Rusty Reptiles, with the warm weather and everyone "saving" the hatchlings from the road, sadly I think it is going to be a busy season.
We have already had to have a garter snake put down after a car hit him. some folks had found him still alive in the street and brought him over to us.
Sadly 75% of his spine was crushed, and it was the humane thing to do.
Well now I have more motivation to take some photos.

Yep this is a new thread area that we started to urge some members to get out in the wild and take some photos and such. I think it is doing pretty well so far.

Snapping turtles are great....How big was it? Pepper (our puppy) loves to find turtles....box turtles and snappers. We will take her for a walk and before you know it....she is barking at a turtle...ha.

Sad to hear about the garter snake. But at least people are concerned enough about a snake to stop and help...that makes me feel good about peoples opinion of snakes...most people I know would have just 'finished it off' or would not even have cared.

    BRING ON THE PHOTOS!!!!!

Hey Rusty! Sorry I missed your thread....glad to see you back!
This forum was Daniel's dream so credit to him for introducing the idea. It's really being well used and I know it's one of our family's most favorite forums. I think it's also wonderful as Daniel says to encourage our members to get out and see what is in their environment, snap a few shots and then leave the creatures be, happy in their wild state. My mind is gone this morning....I need more  ....what group is it that has the motto..."take only pictures, leave only footprints"...Sierra Club maybe?

Oh if you haven't noticed this thread Rusty please do check it out. Mike (Vomitore) has made a very generous offer to the rescuers on BPNet and I personally think you are one of the most worthy ones to receive the Vomitore Offer.
