    Clutch update

Well, it is both good and bad. Looking at the eggs we have, and comparing them to various pics I found online, four or 5 of them are dead. Who knows, they could have been defective from the get-go, or who really knows? See, I never knew these eggs were on the way; I was actually going to arrange a vet trip for my "male" because he looked bloated; not realizing that SHE was actually egg filled :[
My improvised incubator doesn't seem to be at fault here; its temps are spot-on, steady and everything. I really don't know why these eggs died.. but I think maybe we were keeping them too moist. We were afraid when we found them in the cage unexpectedly, very dry and dented (though they couldnt have been there for more than a few hours.)
the silver lining here is, three of tem are still nice, fat and white. I am tryin not to let my emotions go out of control here; this, coupled with having a month-old horse colt around, is really wearing on me (along with my 40 hour a week, horrendous day job, heh.) And not having a computer at home is just icing on the darned cake. Everyone, please send me good thoughts/prayers/rituals/anything for these three eggs; if at least one makes it, I will cry with joy

We're all pullin' for them to make it!! I still wouldn't toss those other eggs, leave 'em in and see what happens in the coming weeks, and once again, congrats!!!

    Thumbs up Re: Clutch update

I wish you luck on the trio of eggs. Hopefully you have some nice plump babies popping out of them in the near future. Lots of Luck........... Danny
