    Re: breeding????

I really don't know, but I do know (from reading) that a couple of days break is a good thing for all participants after a good lock / locks. I suspect this is probably "Best Practice" vs. the rule. I'm sure someone will have a reasonable answer. Sorry about not answering the question.

    Re: breeding????

With boas? Boas are different than Pythons bud. You will confuse the boa greatly if you put him with more than one female. The only agreeable option would be to put him in the same enclosure with two females for the WHOLE breeding season, but I wouldn't reccommend it.

Boas shack up with their mates for the whole season. They don't cheat! All successful Boa breeders leave one male with one female for the whole season. Only when and if they know the female is definitely gravid will they take the male out (other than for feeding).

    Re: breeding????

One male, depending on the male could handle 1-2 females. We've had males work two females and get the job done, but the way we do it is let him complete knock up one girl before moving on to the next. We don't place one male in a cage with multiple females.

We've known breeder that have gone the 1.2 and even 1.3 in a cage and get varying results. In some cases lower counts, higher slugs and in others the results are normal counts in both females. Whether or not any of this is related to multiple females in unknown.

Depending on how much you have vested in the success of the pair or selective breeding, I would keep it a 1.1 until the female has gone through POS and you're certain she is gravid.
