    But I had to

That's what I told my wife when I purchased my second snake, a beautiful Jungle Carpet Python. I've been looking at getting one for a while because of the super bright yellow so when I found one at a pet store near Portland I couldn't resist. Even my wife thinks it's pretty, and she hates snakes. S/he is about 3.5 feet, hard to measure this guy 'cause of his inability to hold still.

I can't believe the difference in personality from my Ball Python. This thing is either really curious or slightly aggressive. I took it out of its cage for the first time today and it showed absolutely no fear. No strikes, but a lot of hissing. Oh, and what a feeding response. My BP will eat everytime I offer, finally, but this new snake didn't even hisitate with it's first pre-killed.

Not yet, but as soon as I get the little bit of shed on his head to come off I'll post some.

I hope I did this right. Here is a picture of him/her (I think I've decided on the name of Hornet) eating the third mouse since I got him. He still has a little bit of retained shed, and I really haven't had a chance to tray to get it off. I'll probably just leave it alone until next shed.

    Re: But I had to

I don't know how to make the photo bigger. They had two at the store where I got Hornet. S/he was the brightest, the other one had a lot of black mixed with the yellow. Mostly I like how curious s/he is.

What a lovely snake and such vibrant colors! Hornet is a great name for him/her. Congrats!
