    Litterbox training rabbits. HELP!

Over the weekend, I got two Mini-Holland lop ear rabbits for the "ladies of the house". We put a litter pan in their cage, it fits in the corner and hooked to the wire of the cage so they can't move it. The problem is, they keep kicking all the litter out of it. As soon as we put it in the female urinated in it, then she started digging all the litter out with her front paws. And the male was using his nose to nudge out the last little bits of litter. BUT they're still peeing and pooping in it! Anyone else with rabbits tried to litterbox train them? Did they kick all the litter out? What do you do?

Gack, how did I miss this! Sorry!

My Daphne used to love kicking out the litter, she's gotten better about it with age and also after we switched to Carefresh litter. You can also try a litter box with a hood on it, like for a cat. Spaying and neutering also do wonders for litter troubles and longevity. Here's a link to more great litter training tips and tons of other helpful stuff. Chances are they just don't like that particular sort of litter. Rabbits are funny like that.

And incedentally... Holland lops are adorable. When we get our next rabbit, we're planning on a Holland or mini lop.
