    hand sanitizer

Hello, I was wondering if I could use hand sanitizer to clean my cage? And if not, would I be able to use it and let it dry out for a day or 2 without a snake in it?

You'd be better off going to a local feed store and picking up some Chlorhexidine or ordering it online. This place has one of the best prices out there:

Save the hand sanitizer for your hands

Ok, thank you. Are you talking about feeding stores that would sell like hay and stuff like that?

Most stores that sell products for livestock or horses sell Chlorhexidine. It is used to clean wounds, during oral surgery, etc. Very versatile and safe stuff.

Hand Sanitizer is isopropal or ethyl alcohol...which is not real effective in killing germs.

I believe there is a great help sheet on here some where titled something like Cleaning 101....which details the use of hydrogen peroxide and vinegear for spot cleaning and the use of chlorohexidine or bleach for sanitizing.
