    different?

Are Emerald Tree Boas and Amazon Tree Boas the same thing? Because from what I've read, Emeralds are Corallus caninus while Amazon's are Corallus hortulanus. If they are indeed different, I have two quick questions- Are they basically the same as an Emerald setupwise (I did some more reading on them, so you can just ignore my last post), and do they stay that orange color all their lives? Thanks for the help. (This is all I've been able to think about for the past few days.)

    Re: different?

They are quite different. ATBs are smaller, and typically quite aggressive. They come in several color phases, none of which is green with a yellow belly (like the ETB) they do not perch on the branch like an ETB, they like to stay on wider branches, and don't curl up in vine-mimic fashion like ETBs and GTPs do. They are also much cheaper than an ETB.

That's great! Not so much about the aggressiveness, but that they stay that color and don't get as big! Do you happen to know if they're a hardier snake than an Emerald?

    Re: different?

That they stay what color? They are many different colors, mostly shades of grey, brown, and red. There are some yellow and orange ones as well. I did say that they are NOT green like an emerald. I didn't word it very well in the previous post.

I haven't owned either, but from what I've read I think ATBs are a bit easier care-wise.

    Re: different?

Yeah, I meant that they didn't turn green (staying ungreen). I guess that that was more bad wording on my part. But I was reading and there's garden phase and colored phase; are these just juvenile stages, or are they two different morphs? And by the way, thanks for the help you've given me so far!

    Re: different?

They are two different phases. Juveniles are born more or less their adult coloration/pattern. It does often dull a bit with age, especially the garden phase (this is just my observation)

    Re: different?

So tell me if I'm getting this right; garden phase stays that grayish sort of color all their life and a colored phase will stay the reddish/orangish/yellowish type of color all their lives?

    Re: different?

Basically. They are duller as adults than they are as hatchlings though.
