Exclamation Bp went off feed... Help!

    Hey guys and gals,

Well I have had my bp python for about 9 months and used to be a good eater. Until about 3 weeks now he is not interested in food. I'm thinking about trying a live prey item next. My temps are 92 hot side 84 cool side. Humidty has been kinda low since I got him because of the stupid CHE. But it has never been a problem. I have a boaphile coming soon so I can get him out of that glass terraium. For now I removed the the CHE and the temp on the hot side is about 90 deg. I also sprayed his cypress down real good. Hopefully it is just a humidity problem. Please somebody chime in and tell me your thoughts.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

3 weeks is not really anything to worry about unless he is loosing weight rapidly. Have you changed anything in the enclosure recently? What have you been feeding him? How big are the prey sizes compared to his girth? How often do you handle?

Im guess you feed f/t mice or rats.Try getting the temps of the prey a little higher. And if you dont already do this get a set of long tweezers or tongs and grab the prey by the tail and offer it to your snake.A few weeks without eating is not a big deal it does becomes a problem when you start to see a differance in body size.hope this helps

I handle him about once a week. I feed a f/t mouse the size of his girth. I havn't changed anything in his enclosure. I feed him with long tweezers.

Sometimes balls get scared of prey item at the end of tweezers for foreceps. Try just leaving it in there for a period of time, leave the snake alone with it, and see what happens.
