How many times should I feed my python?

Hey i just got this new Python Yesterday from the pet store. He is a pretty good size they feed him once. Should i feed him again. They said sometimes they give him two a week cause their smaller mice. Should i try again to feed him? ANd should i feed him live or frozen? I did put one in there and the thing was so fast it jump on his head three times and scared him to death almost lol. The ones the pet store were live mice . But i dont want him getting hurt. I have a frozen one now? What should i do?

Welcome to the forum. You should not feed him right now. Give him at LEAST a week to acclimate before offering him food.

Also, do not handle him for at least a week during that acclimation period - and even better - not until after his first successful feed with you.

What you decide to feed is up to you (live, f/t, pre-killed) but if you do feed live - you can do a search here for doing it responsibly.

Good luck with your new baby!

    what she said.

And you should feed it an appropriately sized mouse or rat(depending on size) once a week.
