    Still no boas

Well, this is no longer a python house. (again). This is the new girl I picked up yesterday. This is Zith. She's about a year and a half old, and she's got a small "owie" on her head from rubbing, but it should heal up without a scar.

    Guess the species

Pacific? I was told sonaran acutally. She rubbed it. The guy said something about how the gopher snakes get a thick "plate" there, and sometimes they don't like it and rub it off instead...or it doesn't shed well. At any rate, I just dab some "woundheal" on it from time to time and it should heal up fine.

    Re: Still no boas

I haven't seen that stripe pattern on a Sonoran, but I suppose it could be. I'm not an expert. Lovely lady either way.

By the way...does her name Zith come from a snake character in a series of books by Eddings?

    Re: Still no boas

Yes it does. In fact, that would be why I have an Issa, and apparently it's been a really long time since I took pictures of him.

I'll have to get some new ones this week.

Here's an old photo of Issa...(that is also his head in my avatar)

    Re: Still no boas

Ahhh yes...Issa is a very cool character as well. (Beautiful snake, too!) If I ever find myself with a small, green snake in my collection, I will probably call it Zith. Reading these books, though I have to really "check my brain at the door" when it comes to his snake characters. LOL I keep reminding myself that it's fantasy and the snakes there can be different from earthly snakes.

    Re: Still no boas

Shame on me. Apparently, I never posted pictures of Beaker for you guys.

He's a fiesty one. He hisses, rattles, and puffs. He was sold to me a a Sonoran het for applegate albino. After doing some reasons (and some people's opinions), I think he's really a San Diego gopher snake.

I originally bought him to pair him up with Zith at the right age, but since we think he's acutally a san diego, that won't happen.
