    New beardie enclosure...

I picked up this tank for $50 today....great deal IMO....this is just a basic setup for now....I plan on changing to a more natural looking enclosure...more rocks, some branches, natural substrate(any suggestions?), and just about anything else you can think of. Here are some pics:

    Re: New beardie enclosure...

It is a 55 gallon...I think. The bottom was busted out of it and the owner of the local pet store had patched it and was selling it. It is not really big enough for two adult beardies, but it should hold my two little girls for a few more months. It is bigger than their previous enclosure so now they have a little more running space.

I have 3-4 of them floating around.....I always seem to misplace them...between watering the beardies, squirting the cat, and misting the snakes.

Nope. Two regular bulbs and a compact fluorecent(sp?). They are from my old setup and are just temporary. However, I am expecting an order from Matt that includes a 100w Powersun bulb. I wanted to get an all in one too and they project UVB greater distances. I will let you know how it works out when I get it setup.

    Re: New beardie enclosure...

my beardies love cork bark i get a pice and weadge it in between the glass to creat large climbing areas. expecially for basking. this allows your drags to use more of the space in there tank than just the bottom level. trust me it works well. mine never come down from it. in the wild drags are almost aloways fornd on something (ex rock, tree stump, fence post) so this gives them a natural fealing of being elevated and a sence of security.
