Late b-day present!!

I woke-up this morning to find this-




I missed ovulation on this girl, but gave her an egg box about a week ago, as she was laying warm, and seemed restless. For those of you with mousers, here's some encouragement; We picked this girl up Nov of '04, she was a little underweight at about 460 grams. She refused rats, and even refused mice if there were rats being fed to other balls in the snake room at the time of feeding. She reached 2300 grams by Dec. '05 on mice alone, and you can see the results! This is the first clutch of the season for us, and I couldn't be happier. She was bred by a lemon pastel.

That's awesome! What medium do you have in the lay box? How moist do you keep that medium?

That's awesome! What medium do you have in the lay box? How moist do you keep that medium?

It's straight-up vermiculite, with the same mix of medium/water as I use for incubation. (I dampen the medium, then squeeze any excess water out.) It's a little messy once the girls start arranging the nest box to thier liking, but it works.
