New BRB has arrived...BAD FedEX
Iv'e waited all day anxiously for my new addition. Finally about 4pm I got a call from FedEx saying they could'nt find my house. So I went down to pick up my snake from there office. Well I got there and the guy went in the back to get my box, but when he came out of the back He was doing the ol' basketball spin with my boxed up snake. I about lost it. I told him that there was a live animal in there and that if thats how he treats all his packages that come through there that I was going to report him to the main office and sue him if the was any injury to the snake. Once I got a look at the box there were no indications of a live animal label on it. Is'nt there suppose to be a live animal label on it? I just could'nt imagine what this or other animals go through while being shipped. Pretty darn scary. Anyway I got the snake home and opened the box and everything was packed very tightly and the heating pad was still warm. The snake came out of its little container very active and curious and even shed while in transit. I put him in his new home and started exploring right away. Within minutes he was in his water dish drinking. I hope this was a good sign that he was ok from the trip. He's now peacefully resting. I'll leave him alone for the week and let him get use to his surroundings. He seemed very docile too, did'nt even try to strike at anytime while I was holding him. That may change though once he gets comfortable. But just wanted to share him with you all. Oh he has no name yet, still working on that.

He's gorgeous!! I can hardly wait to see more pics of him after he's all settled in. I love BRB's!
As for the shipping label....in my opinion, there certainly SHOULD be a live-animal label on the box...but its lack is not FedEx's fault, it's the fault of the shipper. It's possible that he is not certified to ship them, or maybe he has some other reason for not marking the boxes. Regardless though, the little guy seems to have survived his trip just fine!

BRB means brazilian rainbow boa. there's seven other subspecies of them throughout central and south america but BRB's are the most colorful. they are called brazilian rainbow boa because of their irridescence.
P.S. thats one good lookin BRB, i hope he turns out okay from the trip.

I don't see any "BAD FedEx" in this case. Personally, I would call and complain to the person you bought it from and never purchase from them again. FedEx has a certain procedure to follow in order to become "certified" to ship reptiles (it is not complicated and costs no money) and shipping a live animal without proper labels is a violation of the Lacy Act....which is a federal offence. When people violate laws and shipping policies, they are making it alot harder for the people that do things the right way.
Beautiful BRB.....one of my favorite snakes

Sory, but any mishandling of a package is "Bad Fedex". In this case it looks like the shipper was at fault, but that is no excuse to be spinning a package on your finger. Im not sure how practiced this fellow was at it, but there is a chance that he could have lost it off his finger, and a 4-5 foot fall for any package is unnecessary.
