This week, I had done some rearranging; I auctioned off my African cichlids so I can go straight goldfish; now that's what both of my 55g tanks have. Well, just as I was getting ready for bed, I fed the fish and saw a clump of eggs! Goldfish are hard to breed outside of outdoor ponds, so I hope you can all share my joy at this. There were probably hundreds more eggs, but they had most likely gotten eaten before I saw these. I put them in a bucket for safekeeping and they are looking better every day.
I have only had successful goldfish breedings once about a year ago, and only three out of about thirty fry have survived to subadulthood. Wish me luck! Here's a piccy.. Most likely they are a cross between my male Lionhead and my female Ryukin/Pearlscale type!
