They/he may be just starting out. You know, it is perfectly acceptable for you to ask them/this person for references.

Surely he can provide you with references then.

    Do they have a website?

    Re: Van Gilder Reptiles?

Actually they do have a website. http://imageevent.com/vangilderreptiles
I had planned on purchasing one of their pastel males with 2 normal females. I sent out a money order and they say it never arrived (mind you we are in the same state). I've put a trace on it but it's not back yet (I'm NOT implying they had anything to do with this). They were pleasant, I talked to Zina on the phone for about an hour. Last I knew they were having email problems though so I'd suggest phone. I wouldn't hesitate to attempt business with them again though I'd want a bit better circumstances

    Re: Van Gilder Reptiles?

Hi, this is Zina Van Gilder and I would like to direct anyone curious about us (Van Gilder Reptiles) to the websites for the Eastern Kentucky Reptile expo, or the Kentucky Reptile show (shelbyville, ky) or the Midwest Reptile show in Indianapolis. Most of the people on these sites will know us. Both KY sites have a Forum and you can ask questions about us, you can also go on our link that was posted at imageevents. The last entry here is a lady that I did talk to and I want to state very clearly that I did NOT recieve any money order. I e-mailed back and forth with her for a while on my yahoo account that worked every time. I was the one to suggest she put a trace on the Money Order because it didn't get to me. Then I e-mailed her two more times with no responce. She lives on the north side of the state and I live on the south end and it should have taken 2 or 3 days at the most. It was lost somewhere along the way. We are not new at this but this is only our second year selling our own hatchlings. I would never do anything to tarnish our reputation before we have one established. We have some great looking hatchlings coming out (as we speak), some reds, some pastel, some normals. Please check out the forums I suggested, and "M" If you read this, I enjoyed our conversation and would like to talk again. I know you were getting ready to move soon & If you found the MO please make a note on this site to clear any questionable thoughts people may have about Van Gilder Reptiles. Everyone else, e-mail me and I will be happy to give you references. Thanks Zina & Al
