breeding questions about hets and true albinos... help?

i'm looking into aquiring a female to eventually breed with my male (which is proven to be 100% het for albino) hognose. basically i'm wondering if the $1200 investment will be worth it for an albino female instead of a 100% het female.
it's my understanding that an albino x a 100% het would yield (theoretically) half albinos and half 100% hets... i think.
so what would i get if i go with a 100% het female with my male?

I'm assuming that the hognose genetics is a simple recessive form like bp's. In that case, a 100% het x 100% het will, on average, yield half albino snakes and half 50% poss hets. (I think I'm right on that, and if not I'm sure Adam or someone will correct me really quickly! LOL) Of course, any given clutch is a roll of the dice....

From what I have been seeing, quality mouse-eating normal hognoses are in high demand so you can figure any investment in hognoses is a good one. Hognose genetics work just like everything else. With a het female you would have a 25% chance of each egg being an albino instead of a 50% chance if the female was actually an albino. Personally, I would go for two het females instead of one albino female...that way your odds are increased with more eggs.

yeah... western hoggies are blowing up. they're the only ones that take well to 100% rodent diet.
i know the guy we bought our male from said he got just under half albinos when he bred an albino with a 100% het.
i guess i'll just go with a het female (or two) since they're 1/10th of the price and we'd just be doing this for fun in a couple years anyway.
