    Talking Noodle's Home

She is really settled in well - been here for a week already. She is our first Hognose and it's interesting to compare her with our BP. She's on aspen bedding (instead of the bark she was on in the store) and it's great fun watching her bury herself underneath it until just half her head and tail tip are poking out. I'd only ever seen her before on top of her sub so didn't realize they did that

She's soooo floppy compared to Emily when she's out - we have to watch she doesn't hit her head on anything as she'll suddenly decide to drop down to examine something - whereas Emily is 2+ foot of pure, controlled muscle She loves coming out and being handled too.

Congrats on getting Noodle! I've never had the pleasure of holding a Hognose but I know the difference between Beth's milksnake and the ball pythons is major LOL. Miss Emi doesn't stay still for a milli-second!

haha, they really are hard to handle - but in a totally different way than a lot of snakes. it's like they're completely week except for that curly little prehensile tail tip.

i've got mine in a desert viv setup with lizard litter (they really like to burrow sometimes) and some clumps of dried grasses and a plastic vine. surprisingly it climbs up in the vine quite a bit.

    Re: Noodle's Home

Ooh - I must get her a vine then! It would make an nice addition to her viv anyway. She doesn't seem to like hides much - ignores them and buries herself under her substrate mostly. It's nice to have more than one snake - just have to get their eating schedules right so I'm never without a slithery body to hold

Even corns aren't as floppy as hognoses! I've got her on me now draped around my shoulders and grooming my hair LOL! They give quite good neck massages too, but not as good as pythons
