Re: i have seen the lock!
Congrats Emily!.......How many girls do you have that guy with this year?

Re: i have seen the lock!
just the one girl. have 3 females that are big enough and old enough and 3 males (oscar-hypo, snick-albino, and cash-het pied) so each male gets one girl. hopefully at least one of the pairs will produce some good eggs--i'd love it if they all did but since it is their first time and my first time i'm gonna be just thrilled if any of the girls lay.

When they ovulate, you'll have no doubts in your mind ... it literally looks like they have swallowed a football ... lasts about 24 hours ... you CAN'T miss it.
Lying on her side and wrapping the water bowl are signs that she should be developing follicles, but they can be reabsorbed if conditions aren't right.
Good luck!

Re: i have seen the lock!
Good luck!! I know i was shocked the first time i saw mine in the lock....I think all newbie breeders get excited about these little things. i got a mate for my male rosy boa in Oct, andf had been searching for three years before i found an adult female. Lol, the first time i put them together, i had never seen so much action between two snakes before.....they locked all night!! He would not leave her alone!!! I think i even heard him beg me for a pack of smokes the next morn......=)
