little vents/holes on face...

dexter has a line of little holes... i suppose they are called vents? which run along his mouth. they are kinda pink/red... i never noticed them before and wonder if this is normal (he just shed yesterday)

what are these vents used for?

Between the nose and upper lip they are known as facial pits, part of the bp's senses. For heat if I'm not mistaken.

thanks daniel... i'm talking about the facial pits and since they looked kinda red in that photo... i'm guessing dexter's are fine.
