What exactly will be going on this rack? Often, a 'rack system' is one that coverless tubs slide into.

If you'd like some more input, feel free to share info about the tub size, heating plan, etc. I'm not seeing how that rack will be useful for BPs, but maybe you have it all figured out.

    Plan:

    45qt for tubs
    reptile basics heat tape
vivarium electronics ve-100 going to upgrade to a herpstat 1 eventually
snake the heat tape through out the rack

Yes, I use mostly racks too. But usually (certainly in the case of the breeders you mention), this is what counts as a rack:

    https://apcages.com/collections/juve...le-adult-racks

The tubs slide into the openings in the rack, which holds the heat in (heat tape is a surface heat, and it takes some insulation for that heat to provide anything like a gradient) and allows for easy access.

What you're suggesting would have very serious drawbacks in terms of access to tubs (would need to pop tops off, and tops on most sweater box tubs are not secure without modifications) and especially in terms of heat control (heat tape would be providing heat in all directions, and most of the heat would be lost to the room).
