    Caramel Albinos

I know caramel albinos are their own morph but I have questions. Can I make my own caramel albino from 2 diff morphs? I assume a regular albino is involved and what would the other one be? Caramel albinos ROCK

You got my attention real quick with that title! Caramels are my fav too! (I'm gonna make some in the near future!!)

They are their own morph. It's not a combination.

    Re: Caramel Albinos

I am certainly no expert and would welcome the correction, but I "believe" that if you breed the het hypo offspring with the het caramel offspring, you'll get double hets and would have to have a 3rd generation from the original for a chance to see a caramel glow. If I understand correctly. I may be WAY off though! LOL

    Re: Caramel Albinos

sorry, i think i got my words mixed around. i ment breed the het hypos to make a male or female hypo and breed the het caramel albinos to make a male or female caramel albino and then breed the male or female hypo with the male or female caramel albino.

    Re: Caramel Albinos

Hypo is co-dominant. A 'het' hypo IS a hypo.

Caramel albinos are a tyrosinase positive albino.. versus the 'normal' albino being a T- or tyrosinase negative albino. Tyrosinase allows the body to synthesize melanin (black pigment), therefore T+ albinos are typically darker in color from T- albinos.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure they're recessives based on my conversations with both Adam and RDR.
