Not sure if cleaning the shelves would be a pain, but, if you are only keeping a few snakes-then you have time.

Wow! That's a barn. Now that it's furnished, I can appreciate the scale. How do you heat such a large enclosure?

Since it's for a ratsnake I'm only worried about maintaining a single hot spot. It's on a day cycle rotator as it's a halogen bulb. Don't even need a CHE for night temps, as in their native range the temp drops into the 60s at night fairly regularly. Even with just the single bulb she'll have lots of perching options to access the heat as she pleases, as well as choose where she wants to hang out for UVB.

You've got a lot in there already. So, I hesitate to suggest additions, but, if you're looking for ways to fill the upper part, I suggest adding a sky hide (or two) and some vines. For vines, I use sisal rope from Lowe's. It's cheap, but I use it because I like the natural look and rough texture. I, also, imagine it's easier for the snake to grip than the nylon stuff.
