As we enter a heatwave this week, my roommate has decided it's time to start saving the planet by turning off the AC. I'll negotiate to keep the room temp below 80, but I want to know how far I have to take things over humidity.
With the AC cooling to 72-74, my room humidity has been about 60%. Under these conditions, my enclosure humidity has been 70%. The substrate is dry and there is no condensation. With the room at 78, humidity is currently 71% in the room and 77% in the enclosure.
I had been meaning to replace part of the lid with a screen, and I'll do that right away now. I know even 70% is above the recommended 50-60%, should I do battle over the room humidity? If I can get the enclosure humidity to match the room it's no worse off than it was before, but I recognize that my prior inaction on the screen top may have been sub-optimal.
