FB40 tub in a FB70 rack. Any issues?

    Hello
I am wanting to move my snakes to a rack system. My plan is to buy a rack that holds FB70 tubs but I also want to be able to put FB40 tubs in a couple of the shelves for my smaller males.
Is there an issue with having exposed heat tape that dose not have a tub sitting on it? It works out to be around 2.25 inch's on each side that would not have a tub sitting on the heat tape on a shelve.

    Thanks for any information

I have a few inches of exposed heat tape in the set up I've been using for the past a year and a half and I haven't had any issues with it. My set up is very different than yours, but I don't see any reason why exposed heat tape should cause you any problems. My enclosure is split between a lower tub and an upper terrarium.

The tub sits on heat tape that I recessed into the plywood. In the picture below, you'll see that the heat tape extends a few inches beyond where the recess and my tub ends.
