Switching an 8x2x2 to a 4x2x4?

I have an adult jungle who has been living in two 4x2x2 pvc enclosures I joined together with about a 6x6" opening to pass through. She's happy, but recently I got the idea to stack them and open up a space so she could climb more. One zone would have a RHP and the other has a DHP, of which she uses both.

The only thing I worry about is that she is nearly 7-8ft long and I always think it's nice that she can stretch out lengthwise at times when she passes from one side to the other.

For these morelias who are generally happy being arboreal, do you think the vertical extension with loss of length outweighs the 8ft long but 2ft height, and why?

mmm, good question, i think both situations would be good and would have their own advantages - hard to say really - i think i would probably opt for vertical space, particularly since 4x2x4 is nearly the dimensions for a large lizard tank - i think they would have plenty of space and if you angled some branches and adds some vines that would provide them all the space need to stretch eg: perpendicular branch placement from bottom right to top left and then from top left to top right

Valid. The only concern is these have tracks set up to slide the 4ft length of the enclosure. Maybe my non-engineer brain isn't working?

Most of these enclosures come with the option of a top opening door. So, I wouldn't imagine changing the door would be very difficult. The manufacturer might even send you a kit.

The four I have of these I bought from a guy who used to own a safe business back in San Diego and sold them out of a warehouse he had tons of them. At this point I'm wondering if the stack is worth it or just keep horizontal

One thing I like about linking two enclosures is that it allows you to create two distinct climate zones: one hot and dry and the other cool and wet. If you decide to stack them, I'd make the top one hot and dry. Put your heat sources up there. Use paper or repticarpet as your substrate. In the bottom one, I wouldn't put any heat and I'd use a good humidity holding substrate. That would give your carpet a lot of options to self regulate and encourage her to move throughout the enclosure.
