I'd check what brand of mouthwash she's been using. Honestly I don't know- it sounds interesting. Gonna be a challenge to photograph though- good luck with that.

luckily for me they’re definitely living up to their reputations of being the feistiest of the coastal carpet localities so at least I’ll have plenty of opportunities! haha

Probably not a 100% coastal. She was a mix of sorts and I can't rule out Northern Coastal/Jungle.

The mouth was somewhat dark on the bottom but I can't say if that applies to Coastals in general.

RIP girl. I still miss her. : (

beautiful snake but am glad i started this thread now because i would’ve had no idea! was sold as pure Rockhampton locality coastal carpet python - nothing else listed at all - and i heard that they had some like locality distinct colorations so assumed maybe this was part of it

    JMCrook,

A buddy of mine here has a Rock. He isn't around here all that much but I'll ask him sometime if his animal's mouth is black on the inside.

I haven't seen my Brisbane's mouth wide open yet so I can't comment on her. I can say she is 100% pure locality though.

With carpets, the variation, even within the species is so great that it may boil down to the individual.

    Fun thread!

oh i see, so it’s not 100% that this is an exclusively jungle trait or something? either way, definitely a big eye opener and something to think about! many thanks for the info!

He's just saying that the animal he shared a picture of was not 100% jungle/cheynei/northern coastal

Did you ever get your giant snake breeding operation planned out? I remember a forum about animal welfare and tubs, just thought I'd ask.
