Exclamation Found parasite or undigested food in stool

I was cleaning my boys bin when I saw something weird in his poo. The poo itself seemed like a lot more than usual, and on the soft side. BUT the gross thing that was hanging out of it... looks like a twisted up rubbery noodle that tapers down. I have an image link posted but forwarning, it's kinda super gross.

I checked his vent and he seems just fine but I'm worried he has parasites. My only other guess is that it's some undigested piece of central nervous system from his last meal. What should I do?

I saved the nasty rubber noodle wrapped up in case a vet needs to see it.

If your bp is otherwise acting normally and appears healthy, I'd wait to see if it repeats. I'd start weighing him, so I could keep an eye on that. If it repeats, his weight drops, or he begins exhibiting any other concerning behavior, I'd take him to the vet.

Can you tell if it made from organic or inorganic material? Though this isn't too likely, it could be something a feeder ate that it shouldn't have, or even something the snake found and ate.

If it is undigested rodent parts, I had this issue recently in a rainbow boa -- passing undigested fur and bones. After it happened a few times running, I got it checked by a vet to rule out anything obvious, and when that came up negative a few doses of Nutribac completely ended the issue.

I agree that monitoring for now is the best advice.

Yeah, that's weird looking, alright. Not sure what that is. What is the actual size? It sure looks to be organic, but what? Couldn't hurt to add some Nutribac to future meals.

It's about an inch long, and I'm certain its organic but its very touch, which is what leads me to believe its probably a bundle of nerve fibers from the rats spine/tail. Nasty.
I've never heard of nutribac but I'll look into it

Nutribac is a probiotic for snakes. If your snake has ever been given an antibiotic (even before you got him or her) this can improve digestion by helping to restore the necessary & beneficial gut flora that would have gotten wiped out after a course of antibiotic therapy. (Bene-Bac is a similar product)
