Can I mix topsoil with Reptisand rather than play sand for a dig box?

I’m due to replace the substrate in my lizards (uromastyx and leopard gecko) dig boxes but I don’t have any play sand to make the typical play sand and topsoil mix. I do have Reptisand (not calcisand of course, just the fine grain pure sand) and I was wondering if that would be okay to mix into a naturalistic mix.

I don't see any problem with that- it's all "sand". I think the main difference is that "play sand" probably costs less.

Do you notice a difference in how the sand looks & feels? I'm guessing the Reptisand is a finer & more premium grade of sand, & that "play sand" is a bit coarser?

"Play sand", after all, is meant for filling sandboxes for children to play in, & people would go broke buying little bags of Reptisand for those purposes. I notice that "play sand" carries a California Prop. 65 warning (for health hazards), I assume for silica dust- but I'm not sure about Reptisand? Maybe it's not labeled with a Prop 65 warning because it's not for human use, but humans would still be exposed to it anyway, when using it for their pets?

(opinions based on arachnids and snakes) - i think it would be fine from a general safety stand point but for long term burrowing idk because sands which are more coarse than this provide greater tunneling stability but if the lizards in question are just digging to dig then no problems
