So my 6.5 year old hognose keeps laying eggs every year. Her lights are on a timer and she has a heat panel on a herpstat so the temps stay pretty consistent as well, maybe 2° difference on the cool end. The first year it happened I didn’t even know until I cleaned her cage and found them. The next year I never saw her shed or found a shed. Now it’s pretty obvious because the only time she sheds is before she lays (the first time she shed too but I didn’t make the connection).

So I feed her extra, about 2x as much. She never misses a meal. But she still gets pretty skinny afterwards and she is ravenous. She launches out of her cage biting at everything. Is there a specific amount, frequency, and length of time before and after that I should be feeding extra? And maybe something else I’m doing wrong?
