    Male or Female?

Hi i bought my very first ball python this year February and he is supposedly a male banana pastel, he hatched 2021 June, he is about 570grams as of today. I have popped him a couple of times before but couldn’t really tell since and I also thought that maybe he is just a late bloomer. But this week I popped him a couple of times and I am now quite certain that he is a female, never seen any sperm plugs as well. I have bought another young male and some females and I also popped them and there is a big difference between the male and the females.

I just want to be 100% sure so I took some photos and just want some help confirming if he is a male or female. Thanks

Appears to be female. How old is this reptile? The other way to determine sexual identity is through probing. If you are comfortable and know how to perform it. Probing is very reliable.

Gotcha. When you’re “popping” older sub adults and adult ball pythons remember the musculature they have. Why? Because if your landmarks are off you can depress the hemipenes instead of expressing them. Remember to roll your thumb forward as you depress the anal scale upwards and inwards with your opposing thumb. It does look like you have the proper landmarks and technique.

If you don't know how to, it's better you don't try as you can hurt your snake. So for having good sense.
