What to do with underdeveloped eggs?
I had a clutch of 9 healthy eggs. 7 hatchlings already came out of the egg and look perfect. There were 2 eggs that didn’t even pip yet. I was getting worried so I decided to cut the last 2. Big mistake! The last 2 were severely underdeveloped. They were still filled with liquid and blood vessels. I don’t know why they are so behind in development compared to the rest. The hatchlings are still alive inside.
What should I do at this point? Is it ok to leave the hatchlings in with the two eggs? I’m afraid they might knock the eggs over. If I had to guess, the eggs look like they still have at least another week to go.

Re: What to do with underdeveloped eggs?
I would remove the hatchlings that have exited the eggs already. So there is no disruption of the cut eggs I would continue to incubate them . Maybe just clean up the incubator and situate the two eggs in a way that they will be ok to continue on hazard free. What was your incubation temperature?

They were incubated at a steady 88.5F
They started pipping on day 58 and the first 7 were out by day 61

Re: What to do with underdeveloped eggs?
I was thinking that the two underdeveloped eggs may have been overshadowed and didn’t receive that temp. Maybe due to their positioning in the incubator they were at a lower temperature. Were you able to separate the eggs individually right after they were laid or did they incubate as a clutch of attached eggs?

I just got home to separate the unhatched eggs and one of the hatched hatchlings had decided to crawl into the cut egg. Omg! They are so naughty!!
The 2 unhatched are in their own tub now in the incubator. I separated all the eggs on day 1 so I’m really shocked there would be this big of a temperature gradient.

I've never had a snake crawl into an open but "occupied" egg, but I've seen them decide to go back into an empty shell, like "Don't make me go out there!" Yes, you have a naughty snake!

Just wanted to update that the 2 late babies came out perfectly healthy only 2 and 3 days after I cut the eggs. I’m SO glad I severely overestimated how underdeveloped they were. Thanks everyone for the help!
