My First clutch of 2022
My Pastel leopard Clown X Super pastel 100% het pied pairing was rather problematic due to none of the eggs pipped. They were late by 3 days after being due on June 27. I had to cut into two of the eggs after day 63 to make sure all was welll.

Re: My First clutch of 2022
These are the other three babies that were overdue. We did lose 1 of the six babies that was the first one I cut into. I believe it was a twisted umbilicus. The yolk sack was also discolored and may have somehow become torn but not really sure. We are happy with the results.

Congratulations! I'm glad you only lost one- they look pretty interesting.

Re: My First clutch of 2022
Thanks B ! One of them is the gift to Supremenoser and her loss of her Pastel. I had promised her one of these way back then. Lol. There seem to be three females and two males. The only one I can pretty much identify this early is the leopard pastel on the left in the second pic. All are 100% het clown / 50% het pied. Surely they will look different after their first shed and a meal or two. Most others look like super pastels .

Also, the incubation temperatures and humidity were set at 89F and 99% respectivelyh. There was a period early in the incubation that the internal tub temperatures had fallen to 85F by temp gun as I had found out days later. We know how the early environmental conditions are so important for the eggs and development. That , more than likely caused the delay in pipping. I did wind up cutting all the eggs realizing none had pipped. Never dealt with something like this in my breeding career. These guys actually remained in the eggs until July 10 before emerging.
