Pros and cons of tap vs filter water i have read on fb that tap is bad I read that bottle water is better I have looked on line that it’s fine more options please

I don’t know any pros or cons but I know people that fill water out of a garden hose. I myself use filtered water but it’s just preference. I don’t drink tap water so I wouldn’t give it to my animals

It's a bit more of an issue of where you live I think?

Some areas can have some pretty bad water quality. Or an individual building can with old pipes and such.
If your tap water has a funny color, odor or taste? Don't give it to your animals.

Purified and bottled water would be best.
RO water is a bit acidic but mostly okay
Spring water is okay but I don't know the odds of contaminates there...
Normal tap is...eh. I like to run mine through a filter regardless. Remember that we add things like chlorine and flouride to tap water. You can use a dechlorinator as well but make sure to use as directed

Ok I live in prescott valley az live in a somewhat new home occasionally I would go in my bathroom and smell urine from the sink with nothing in the toilet it tasted odd when I get it from the tap not bad no Oder after just filling the glass up I know it’s counterproductive of what I just said the smell would be like that if I have not used the sink in a while

I'm not a plumbing expert, but I think it's possible that the plumbing vent from your bathroom (that goes to the roof) isn't installed correctly, or it's damaged or plugged up. Getting toilet smells from the sink is not normal- it's not supposed to happen. You should get that checked out as it might be unhealthy, besides being "ew!"

That’s an understatement and agreed not normal it was regular when we first moved in about 2 or 3 years ago now after using the pipes almost every day the smell is not there as much in the sink

That's a bad idea- please don't anyone do that. Hoses have warning tags on to remind (or inform) us that hoses are made of materials that can leach some unhealthy chemicals into the water- hence the yucky taste, your first clue. Since we're bigger & tougher than our snakes, it could affect them long before it makes us sick.

I used to have an old rubber hose (came with the house) that would produce foamy water for a few minutes after I'd turn the water on. I wouldn't even water my plants with it! I mean, maybe we are being too paranoid but it never hurts to err on the side of caution!

I agree! There's no substitute for good health but it's something we often take for granted until we lose it. The trouble with chemical exposures is that they may not even make you noticeably sick right off, but can contribute to you getting cancer somewhere "down the road" when you least expect it. They know a lot more now & try to tag hazardous materials- only a fool would ignore warnings & slurp up hose water, or give it to their pets. Yuck!

Maybe it takes living long enough to lose loved ones to cancer before we take it seriously?
