Post Plz need help fixing humidity in my glass tank and arid state

    https://ibb.co/61pmQ22
Set up: 40 gallon with RediChip Coconut Chip Substrate, tinfoil tape across the entire top except for a hole for the 100w CHE that's on a dimmer, getting another thermostat for it, insulation foam board across back. Tikaton Reptile Heat Pad 12x8in, with ipower thermostat inbetween it and glass, covering the water bowl and skull hide. I have a temp gun and the surface level basking spot closest to CHE is sitting at 100, glass under the warm hide side is 90 with my thermostat set to 100. Cool hide is 75. I have an accurite digital thermo/hydro stat on the cool side, for ambient it says: in 72/out 82 degrees and humidity is stuck around 42% which is my biggest problem. The two hides on the ground and the hanging hide all have sphagnum moss.
For upping the humidity I’ve tried adding more substrate to the corners and wetting them but that isn’t helping. I have a spray bottle but I don’t want that to be the primary source of humidity. Getting the water to evaporate from the bowl isn’t working even though half of it is sitting directly on the pad and under the CHE. Should I just breakdown get a humidifier since I live in such a dry climate, if so what’s a reliable one?

The basking spot under the che is definitely too hot. Try dialing that back a bit and it may help a little on the humidity.
Should be shooting for 90, 100 is too much and helping to dry things out more.

I'd add a humid hide as well.

Is the poor humidity causing an issue that concerns you? Is your bp eating and shedding normally?

the humidity is my main concern yeah I'm trying to raise it to 70%. I don't have my bp yet I'm just trying to set up the tank. I am doing a salt calibration with my hygrometer now but its already at 65% 30 min in so I don't think that's broken

Well good on you for getting your enclosure dialed in prior to arrival. Too many fail to do that. What kind of substrate are you using?
