Is it okay to keep bp in tub with only a few airholes overnight?

Alright, I'm in the process of setting up my snakes new tub, but I won't have a drill until tomorrow afternoon. I made about 10 holes in the 48 qt tub. Can I put him in it until about 3 tomorrow afternoon? Its currently 9:15 pm.

What did you make the air holes with? (*how big are the holes? I'm assuming they're not "pin holes"?)

Snakes do quite well with minimal air-flow, as long as the temperatures (warmth!) is adequate & controlled so it's also not excessive.

Yes, no problem. Make sure the cover is on tight and the snake can't slip out.

Thank you so much! I specifically got a tub with 4 latches, one on every single side.

I made them with a hot glue gun and a pocket knife! The hot glue gun was clean, and I made sure there was no excess. Then afterwards I went over it with a match so there are no sharp edges or loose strings.

So (I'm guessing) the holes are about .25" or less? Should be fine.

In my experience, those tubs aren't secure enough, at least not for an adult BP. I started off keeping my 1500 gram adult male BP in a tub with 4 latches, admittedly a cheap one. One night, I heard a pop. I looked over and one latch was undone. From in the tub, he put enough pressure to pop the latch. I put something heavy on top and ran out to buy 4 spring clamps to hold the latches down. He escaped anyway. I was puzzled because the clamps were still in place. So, I moved the clamps to the gaps between the latches. Only then did he stopped escaping.

This is very true! BPs will push and push and when they find a weakness in the lid they will not give up on trying to force their way through. I used large binder clips to secure my BP's Sterilite tub lid back when he had a tub for an enclosure. Better safe than sorry as losing a snake is a nightmare

I was going to mention large binder clips too- I never house snakes in plastic tubs, except when I brumated some of them, years back- and I used large binder clips to make SURE, because even tiny snakes will find those air gaps, & some have gotten killed when they try to escape but get stuck & fatally-compressed. Please don't let that happen- accept nothing less than escape-proof.
