This is sooo cute! It's clear that your BP enjoys his soft hides a lot.
My BP loves soft things as well, he really likes to burrow/tunnel in blankets and comfortably coil up inside them. I could swear he particularly likes it when sheets are fresh as well lol. In the wild ball pythons are often hiding in tunnels with soft soil and they have soft scales/skin so it makes sense that they like soft textures.
I've considered giving my BP something soft in his enclosure but he'd probably pee on it and ruin it so alas I've had to stick with things that are easy to disinfect lol

I agree- I'm quite sure snakes can feel soft things- & that's why they also enjoy cuddling on us too. It's really funny to let your snake "help" you fold a big pile of laundry from the dryer- they like to dive right in. Not that they're actually any "help", but it's fun to watch them. And it's not just BPs, by the way... Yes, they absolutely CAN "feel", despite having scales.

Is all fun till your BP poops or pees in it.

Ah, the voice of experience! But you're right- do check for any "fullness" above their cloaca before handling, & if the coast seems clear, cross your fingers anyway.

We have a smaller sleeping bag that we use as a temporary hide/container for our retics when we need to do a full enclosure cleaning. They figured out pretty quickly that they really like it in there.

When I had a large BCI & wanted to clean her home, she loved going into the soft-sided "small dog carrier" that I have- I put a thick towel in it & it made a very cozy 'cave' with built-in ventilation. Much like your sleeping bag...

Oh man I didn't even consider the big guys, that's even cuter somehow.
As for the poop/pee, he tends to go in the same corner, and I picked rodent and sugar glider gear because it's washable - I assume rodents go to the bathroom on their things too. I'm hoping to get him into a taller tub with climbing opportunities soon, and since most of this stuff is meant to be suspended it'll be even safer up off the ground I think (once it's modified to take his weight of course - I don't know much about sugar gliders but something tells me they generally aren't pushing 450g). Then he can chill in his hammocks and things. I just didn't want to change things up on him too much right now - maybe once it's warm out and he's eating again (hopefully!).

Big snakes need snuggles too! I think ALL snakes are cute when they're getting their "cozy" on- and seeing their approval when we fix their homes up right is pretty satisfying.
