It is a good thing these guys don't get as big as retics, they would be like raptor and take over the world. LOL.

This was the best photo I could get. 3 more meals in her before trying to build trust some. Tuesday is feeding day. Love her bright yellow and reds.

Lilly refused food this week. Waiting till next Tuesday to offer again. She just wants to not be bothered. Little brat. LOL (I know is not really being bratty). I know she is healthy enough wont hurt her to miss this meal. At this age I would think is important to make her feel super safe. She is in quiet part of the house. I am limiting my interactions to cleaning and feeding for now. Open to advice.

She's reminding you that growing slower is just fine & there's only so much food she needs-or maybe she's heading into a shed also- they feel it well before we see the evidence.

Wouldn't worry yet, but I would give privacy as you mentioned, just in case you're "too noticeable" without meaning to be. Snakes are so cool to watch, it's easy to forget how shy most are.

I could not find her anywhere in her enclosure when I got home from work. The pre-killed mouse is gone and she is hiding under the edge of her water bowl. Silly "tree" python hiding on the ground. She did eat though. Just did not want to be handed it.

Maybe she wasn't "hungry enough" to eat it openly? But then at least she did eat- & haha, "made you look!"

That's what we "get" for living with snakes... Should give us a clue when they keep sticking their tongues out at us, eh? LOL

I know. I am a biologist at heart. I enjoy the learning of this all. I do think the feeding ledge will be the way I go from now on now that I know she will hunt.
