They should easily last 6 mos. this way, as long as your freezer remains at the right temperature (0*) with no lengthy power outages where the rats get thawed. You should be fine.

I usually make two orders a year for my collection. I use RodentPro and you get free shipping on orders over $100. I keep mine in a chest freezer in my snake room.

Do you keep them in that ziplock bag for 6 months?

Re: Rat storage question
Like KMG I also buy 2 times a year for my collection. I also buy from rodent pro and keep my chest freezer out on my balcony just outside my snake room

Yes.
But,
I do have some of the insulation that comes in the box from RodentPro around the sides and on the bottom of the freezer. I have done this almost my entire time keeping snakes and have had no issues.

I order feeders twice a year as well. I order mostly from Big Cheese and Cold Blooded Cafe. Never had any issues with freshness.

I'm probably going to go back to Perfect Prey next time though, because the hoppers I got from Rodent Pro this last time were half the size of the hoppers I got from PP the time before that.
