RHP temp question

So it's been a few days now since my BP moved into his T10. The cool end is consistently at a cozy mid-upper 70's, but I'm conflicted on the warm side. At first it was seeming way too hot with the top of the warm hide reaching 100F and the ground itself was a little over 90 (keep in mind the hide is black so it absorbs heat easily), so I turned the main temperature down by several degrees and now the ground both around and under the hide hovers around the mid 80's while the roof of the hide reaches low 90's (around 92-93). Is this normal and safe?

I've been observing his behavior closely and he doesn't seem stressed at all. He's moved between both warm and cool end hides multiple times now and there's even a middle hide utilizing his old log hides if he desires a change of pace (I put two of them together with one end against the back wall to make one long tunnel with a single entrance) and he's always hidden away during the day (perfectly normal for him, he's as seclusive as a BP can be) and after the lights go out he's staked out from his hide entrances as he hasn't eaten for a while. So he seems to be perfectly happy with the parameters, just thought I'd run it by you guys as well.

From what I gather, you only need an ambient temp of 80f and a surface temp of 90f on the hot side. So I would say that is normal and safe. Sounds fine to me.

My ball python is also in a T10. My probe is located on the cool side. I have it set to 80 in the part of the enclosure that gets the absolute coolest temp. The hot side is like yours... a little close to 100 literally at the top touching the rhp. The area below it is about 90. Inside the hide is a little cooler, usually 85 give or take... sometimes higher, sometimes lower. Has worked great for me like this for about a year, which is when I put my girl in there. I am no expert, but your setup seems fine to me.

That sounds like where I would like it. Almost every hotspot I have is set to 85.
