    New python owner.

Hey Everyone. I am a long time snake caregiver, lol and recently acquired 2 ball pythons. My Piebald is a 3 year old rescue, he is a good eater, and was under sized when i got him. He has bonded with me since i have gotten him, and is getting less head shy.

My Newest is a leucistic ball python, he is 2.5 months old and such a sweetheart. Not head shy at all, i have had to help him shed once with a wet face cloth, he caught on pretty fast to what was happening. He is a good eater as well. Python's are a different snake for sure.

Hey, You've got some terrific BPs, aka "cuddlers-in-training".

You mentioned that pythons are "different" snakes, so that begs the question, what other kinds of snakes have you kept?

    Re: New python owner.

I have A 3 year old Taiwan Beauty snake, a 3 year old Texas rat snake, an albino nelson milk snake, a corn snake, and a Florida King snake and one Durango Mountain king snake. So 8 snakes in total.

The Taiwan Beauty, the new baby python and the Florida king i have raised from worms. the rest are all rescue snake that people could not take care of. People don't understand that snakes can be a 20 year commitment.

What a delightful collection of snakes you have- and it's obvious that they love to snuggle with you- that says a lot. We have some similar tastes in snakes- I've had BPs in the past but none currently- been keeping lots of snakes for a long time. I'm more of a rat-snake person- I've had many kinds (still do) including Taiwan Beauty rat snakes (those were in the past), & various kings, several kinds of milk snakes, bull & gopher snakes, corns, desert glossy snakes, rosy boas, Western & TX longnose snakes, an Australian spotted python (she's my only python now), a boa (BCI) in the past, etc. I bred some Okeetee corns in the past (I really love their rich red/orange colors) but now only have one left (he's 22 years old now), but I have several younger corns (caramel), they're 12 years att. I really love the photo of your TX rat snake- he looks so comfy, lol, & it's what I enjoy most about my rat snakes too, that & their curiosity. BTW, it's hard to pick a favorite, but my Trans Pecos rat snakes are probably mine. I'm really glad you joined us here.

My Texas rat snake is an amazing snake, he has a very chill personality. He is a very curious snake as well. He is eating 2 small rats every 2 weeks now, he is beefing up.

I'd say he sure knows a good thing when he finds it. My biggest rat snakes are close to 7', that would be the 2 male "Florida" rat snakes. A blend, I believe, of yellow & gulf hammock & Everglades. I have 2.2, but the females insist on laying infertile eggs every year (never bred, btw- I've had all 4 since they were 1 1/2 years old) so they've remained smaller (around 5') & also hungrier. I love that rat snakes aren't fussy eaters, lol.
