I would cut them just like you have the tape....unless you can make a nice circle cut to match the lamp shade. The pvc sitting beside the lamp should not create any issues.
Okay sounds good, thank you!

FYI: One more thing about using any sort of tape inside a snake enclosure, & I speak from experience, many many years ago : even tape that doesn't stick well, like old masking tape, can easily come loose when the snake slides around against it overnight, and by morning, it may be extremely well-BONDED TO the snake after they lie near the heat source. Ask me how I know...

I'm not sure I want to know lol. Hopefully the snake was okay afterward.

Oh yes, it was fine, with my help. Just a little complicated to remove the tape, as it was a rattlesnake, but fortunately their scales are quite tough. BTW, that was before we had forums to discuss & prevent these situations.

That's crazy!
One question I asked that hasn't been addressed is about her morph, do you think she for sure is a pinstripe?

Yup. I miss taking care of rattlesnakes- I did that for some 20 years & creativity sure helps. Only keeping harmless snakes now- and I'm not the one to ask about BP morphs either, sorry- I haven't a clue.
To make sure your question gets seen by those who know morphs (if you don't get a fairly prompt answer in this thread) you might want to re-ask your morph question here:

It might, & personally, I'd test this FIRST, before using on the enclosure with a snake. See if you can smell anything- be sure to test this for long enough. I'm not much of a PVC fan, in all honesty, & I'd probably use something else entirely. (The foil will conduct heat, as I just thought more about it, & fumes might still escape.)
