Reptile Super Show!!! WVHS Conference, USARK shirts, and more. (alert updates)

    Reptile Super Show
Even bigger? Is that possible? Yes. Yes, it is. Bring the family and see the amazement in the eyes of the young ones (and the adults, too).

"The Reptile Super Show is meant to educate the public about pets they may otherwise never get the chance to know, but we are also passionate about captive breeding and keeping the populations of some of the world’s most interesting creatures alive and well. Educational, fun, and no-doubt exciting, the Reptile Super Show is something everyone should visit at least once. If you’re not a reptile fan when arrive, we promise you that you will leave as one."

The USARK benefit auction is right after the show on Saturday night at 7:00 in the Marriott hotel next door to the show. Stick around and support our work to protect your freedom to have reptiles and amphibians as pets. The auction is FREE to attend and everyone is welcome. We'll have a preview of the many donations at our booth. Just stop by for details.

Hidden Forest Art Gallery has donated again! The original painting (photo at bottom) features radiated tortoises and a ring-tailed lemur. Click it to visit their website. Thank you, Gamini and Lisa!

There will be live and silent auctions, and we'll wrap it up quickly so everyone can enjoy the remainder of the evening. We appreciate everyone who donates and attends as USARK would not be possible without these auctions and our supporters. Thank you to Ramy and the Super Show crew for your continued USARK and herp community support. From the Reptile Super Show: "Please come and support all that Phil Goss and USARK have done. They are fighting for our rights and freedom to keep our beloved reptiles and amphibians. Let's all donate big and make this the biggest USARK fundraiser yet. Make sure to drop off a donation to the USARK booth (behind the Zoo Med booth at the front of the show). They will take donations all day Saturday. Come by Saturday night, check out the auction and bid BIG. It's a fun time with food and drinks, too!

The USARK After Party and Auction will be held at 7:00 pm on Saturday night in the Marriott Hotel. It will be located outside of the entrance door to the hotel on the right side. We will have a nice big seating area and cash bar. It is just a 3-minute walk from the Reptile Super Show. If you are parking at the Anaheim Convention Center, park in Lot 1 or 2. You can leave your car there, just be sure to move it before midnight or you can be towed or ticketed!"

We look forward to seeing everyone there!" - WVHS
    ALERT: Raleigh, NC Ban
UPDATE 8/17: The Raleigh City Council voted to send the animal ordinance to the Growth and Natural Resources Committee (to meet in September). The draft will be studied and likely amended. A hearing (with allowance for public comment) on the next draft will occur and a future City Council meeting.

    ALERT: Wake County, NC
Wake County, North Carolina may be proposing a ban on certain reptiles and exotic animals. Local residents should engage with their Board of Commissioner representatives ASAP. A county law would apply to all unincorporated areas (those living outside of city limits) of Wake County.

    Membership T-shirt Update
Unfortunately, we must switch our shirt fulfillment company. The current company has not kept up so we must now secure a new distribution channel. The new company will be starting with a 6-month backlog but will catch us up ASAP. Shirts will ship in the order of membership registration date.

We realize some members have already waited too long. Our new system will get shirts out much faster after we are done playing catch-up. Our apologies again for the delay but we are working to get all shirts out and to avoid this problem in the future. Have a good day.
Shipping Live Herps Responsibly and Ethically
Animal welfare is both a priority and a special concern when shipping live reptiles and amphibians. When conditions around shipping pose a hazard that cannot be otherwise mitigated, reptiles should not be shipped.
