Snake rack thermostat question
I have recently got a cserpents snake rack and bought a vivarium thermostat I set it up and tried starting with the temp at 95 but after a day when I check the temp inside the tubs say 98-100 on the hot end the room temp in the room is around 79-73 any reason it would be that hot? My prob is taped directly to the heat tape in the corner of the middle rack

Did you check the temperature where the probe is? It could be faulty heat tape (heating unevenly) or a bat thermostat that reads wrong. What kind of heat tape is it. Can you add a picture of it. If the adhesive tape is directly on the heat tape it could be causing a problem.

It could also be fine as sometimes the probe temp is different than the tub floor temp based on where the probe is located on the heat tape. Lower the t-stat setting to 90*F.

I checked the heat tape it is around 100-103 when it heats up but cools down when it switches off, I lowered it to 90 and the tubs lowered to 95 in the hot spot so I lowered it even more to 88 to try, I was just confused I have read some people have it at 114 to get the right temperature in a controlled room didn’t think it would be that warm in a normal room in the house

Is the tub paper lined or mulch (coco, bark or other)? Paper will use a lower setting.
Once you find a setting that works the temps need to hold for three days. If they don’t you have a problem that needs to be found.
Good luck!

Re: Snake rack thermostat question
Where is the probe located on the heat pads, they tend to be warmer in the middle than the outer edges.
