    Central American Boas?

Hi all I need some info on Central American Boas? There is a lot of confusing info on how big they will get as adult. Some sites say 3 to 5 Feet, Others say 5 to 7 feet. I saw one site saying they can get up 8 to 10 feet. Which of these are accurate? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In general they stay smaller than other boa imperator. I would suggest reading the info at this site as he's considered the authority on locality critters. http://www.cuttingedgeherp.com/

I have a pair of Nicaraguan males that are 3 years old and almost 4 feet. I’m pretty sure they will top out about 4.5 feet at 5 years old. Females seem to be in the 5-6 foot range. Different localities of CA boas might be smaller or larger than others.

They were kinda edgy when I first got them but now they are totally chill and incredible animals. Feeding is never an issue and they have a bold personality. I can open the cage and clean and they won’t flinch. I have them in AP T-10’s

    Re: Central American Boas?

Well in terms of size of the various localities of Central American Boas (Boa imperator) - there is a pretty good size range. Basically anything from 4-10 feet is possible, with 9-10 feet representing a very large female Columbian imperator Boa. And 4-5 feet being females of the dwarf localities (such as Tarahumara Mountain, Tamaulipas Cloud Forest, & Crawl Cay) But most localities tend to average about 5-7 feet.
    Snakes
1.0 Pure Hog Island Boas (Boa imperator) - "Boss"
0.1 Tamaulipas Cloud Forest Boa (Boa imperator) - "Elena"
0.1 Ivory/Super YB Ball Python (Python regius) - "Ivory"
1.1 Cape York Spotted Python (Antaresia maculosa) - "Irwin & Iris"
    0.1 Dumeril's Boa (Acrantophis dumerili) - "Lysse"
1.0 75% Super Dwarf Retic (Malayopython reticulatus) - "Kal"

    Lizards
    0.1 Yellow Ackie Monitor
    (Varanus acanthurus) - "Gigi"
