I raise my own, but many members have given good reviews here on Perfect Prey, Big Cheese, Layne Labs or Rodent Pro.

Shipping prey on ice is never cheap though, so it's best to buy a quantity that will last at least 6 months, as it's more "cost effective", as it is when feeding multiple snakes too.

Don't know what state you're in either- some places may allow in-person pick-up instead of shipping, so that might be worth checking too.

I use Rodent Pro. You get free shipping on orders over $100. I order once or twice a year and keep them in a deep freeze in my snake room.

I've heard good things about Rodent Pro, but never ordered from them. I'm fortunate to have a local supplier so I don't have to do big orders for just a few snakes.

Side note, and I don't mean this to come off as rude or anything, but you show your support for a company with your money. You just put a post up about ugr sending you a snake with ticks and getting a snake from them that died. I'd go out of my way not to order even a hide box from a company that I've had that many issues with.

UGR is famous for having problems like that and worse. This applies to everything, pet stores, breeders, sellers. Each dollar you give them is a vote. If you don't want to support them then don't give them any money for supplies or feeders.

Buying from the listed prey dealers even with shipping is cheaper then the pet stores.

Now, look for rat breeder, fancier clubs an forums near you (book of face). You'll find small prey breeders that you can drive to an pick up prey cheaper. With back yard breeders you can get the right size without the guessing. Some sell live, most will gas for you an then you can freeze them or feed them.

Free prey, check your local animal shelters. You'll find everything plus dogs an cats.

    Good luck!

I mostly use Big Cheese but Cold Blooded Cafe and Perfect Prey are both really good too. I've had bad experiences with Rodent Pro and won't use them again.

I hesitated to list Rodent Pro, as I thought I remembered a few that had issues with them. Thanks also for adding the other 2- I was trying to remember them all.
