    New herp site

Hi there! I'm 12 years old, and I am extremely fascinated by herps. Recently, I started a herp site. Any feedback/constructive critism would be very much appreciated. Please leave a comment!

Hi Josh, welcome to the world of herps. I just want to make a recommendation, and you may have done this already. Some sites don't like when people advertise their personal sites on their platform, without reaching out to a moderator. I've been burned in the past by doing something that I thought was just trying to help share content. On that note, I look forward to checking out your site.

We've already sorted that out here, thanks. He does have admin's permission to post this now, but not before I removed his post the first time, just following our TOS rules.

Bump! I have some pics of my geckos on there, as well as a fence lizard care sheet I wrote.

    New herp site

The site is absolutely beautifully set out - looks real professional..

The site does kinda ‘present’ itself as a Bearded Dragon or lizard portal .. why not include them in the site name to entice Dragon owners / lizard lovers in ?

Then focus on what you know about primarily ... you can include a basic snake section in the menu somewhere ??

    Re: New herp site

I just put new caresheets my site... I don't remember if I had put my fence lizard caresheet on when I first told you about it, but I also put a mealworm care/breeding guide on there, and a leopard gecko care guide. I even got an account with the amazon affiliates program, so I put "special links" to different supplies on the caresheets. Also, I got my site on google! You'd have to search through "approximately 319,000 results" before you'd get to it, but if you do a site search (search for site:herphusbandry.weebly.com) the homepage will be the one and only result. Of course, anyone who knows to do that knows to just search herphusbandry.weebly.com.

According to my google analytics page, I've had 16 unique visits since august 30th (that day I had 7!). That's great since I haven't been doing much to advertise it or anything. Just word of mouth, mostly.

Anyway, please let me know what you think of my caresheets. Thanks!

There is a lot of knowledge on the internet: What could make your information more valuable is if it was strictly based on your unique personal experience. If you were interested in pursuing this method: I would recommend that you take photos of your efforts and pair them with your care sheets to both tell a story and teach at the same time. Show the reader what you are talking about from your own experience. If you do not have experience with something: you can still mention it, but, I would only do so as a comparison to your own successes/failures with that particular topic.

    Anyhow, just a thought.

Also, the 'Herp Husbandry' tab on the top of the webpage does not function correctly in my version of Google Chrome (as of 02 Sep 21), the sub-folders disappear as soon as I click on it. I can still access them by clicking directly on 'Menu'. Just FYI.
